Curatorial Tours - Rhizomes of Surrealism

We invite you to our gallery for a curator-led tour exploring the complexities of the exhibition, on July 16, 2026 at 6:00 PM, led by Mariusz Szewczyk.

The exhibition "Rhizomes of Surrealism" proposes a radical abandonment of this perspective. We shift the focus toward the revolutionary epistemological and ontological model formulated by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. Surrealism is not, and never was, a closed academic movement—surrealism is a rhizome. It did not function as an institutionalized direction fulfilling André Breton’s personal assumptions or implementing a top-down program. It erupted within post-war Polish realities as a response to the traumas and challenges of the era.
