Konrad Żukowski

Konrad Żukowski (b. 1995 in Kętrzyn, comes from Masuria) is a painter and creator of video and installations, living and working in Kraków. He completed the Faculty of Painting of the Kraków Academy of Fine Arts (the studio of Professor Andrzej Bednarczyk, 2019), where for the cycle „In Hell There Will Be Only My Acquaintances” he received the Best Diploma 2019 distinction; he also studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and was a finalist of the Hestia Artistic Journey competition. For several years he has been one of the most widely discussed painters of the young generation on the Polish art market.

Żukowski paints above all dreams and „little stories from his head” - most often himself and animals and fantastical creatures (dragons, unicorns), building a private, fairy-tale-dark mythology with the recurring motif of hell and the end of the world. He works in large formats, with dense, poured paint that itself builds the structure of the picture. He has exhibited at, among others, the HOS gallery and the Clay space in Warsaw and at The Breeder in Athens; his works quickly entered the collectors' circuit.
