32.5 x 21 (printed area), 49 x 37 (sheet size) Janusz Orbitowski was associated with the Kraków artistic milieu, where he studied in Adam Marczyński's studio. As a teacher he taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków from 1970. He practised geometric abstraction, building his three-dimensional compositions from rhombuses and rectangles, often in neutral colours. This device was meant to draw the viewer's attention to the key elements of Orbitowski's work: the exploration of space, the play of light and shadow and of movement, and their mutual relations. This is also one of the reasons his works are counted within the op-art current.
