Ryszard Grzyb, painter and poet, whose artistic debut fell in the mid-1980s. One of the founders of „Gruppa”, editor of the magazine „Oj dobrze już”. In the 1980s associated with the expressive current of the new figuration. At that time he created the so-called „papers” - large-format works made in gouache, sometimes with an ironic overtone. An absurd tone also characterises the painter's later compositions from the late 1980s and early 1990s, when the artist returned to traditional technique - oil painting. It is then, too, that ever bolder colour juxtapositions appear, which over the following years evolve into contrasting colours, along with the motif of animals: rhinoceroses, rabbits, turtles. Since 2004 the artist has run the project „Aerial Sentences”, in which he presents short poetic phrases in public space.
